La Serena Tejera, Handmade Notions with Latinx Sabor
La Serena Tejera means Handmade Notions with Latinx Sabor! And ¡Sabor! means flavor. And we are talking BIG FLAVOR! Not the sort of salt and pepper for your chicken soup but the fire-roasted Hatch green chile sprinkled liberally over a steaming pot of pinto beans kind of flavor. The best kind of flavor that can only be expressed as, ¡Sabor!
La Serena Tejera Store, is a place for knitters, crocheters, sewists and crafters who want their notions, stickers, enamel pins and accessories to have some Latinx flavor.
Our name, La Serena Tejera is a take on the Spanish word for mermaid, Sirena, and translates into English as "The Serene Knitter" and our colorful logo of a beautiful Aztec Knitting Mermaid honors the place where we believe our creativity, skills, ganas and dreams originate from, our ancestors.
The notions and accessories at La Serena Tejera, showcase the love the shop's owner and resident artist, Mona Reyes has for her Latin culture and her favored craft of knitting and crocheting.
All clay items are handsculpted, baked, glazed and fixed with a silver knit hoop or crochet lobster clasp finding. No two stitchmarkers are alike and slight variations may appear from the ones in the pictures, but, rest assured the differences are very slight. And since the items are made by one person, the owner of the store, in contrast to being mass produced by a machine, items are made in ready to ship small batch quantities. The store is re-stocked 4 times a year, Spring, Summer, Fall, and for the Holidays/End Of Year gifting.
All items have been made with the utmost care and attention to detail and we ask that you please handle each handmade item with care as we do not offer refunds, exchanges or repairs on any of our clay pieces that break due to mishandling during shipping or misuse of items from their intended use.
In addition, digital artwork featured on our enamel pins, stickers, greeting cards, clothing, game sets and accessories were created by the owner of La Serena Tejera and are copyrighted. Please credit La Serena Tejera, when and where appropriate.
